BJG was founded in 1992 by Mike Blakely, Cliff Johnson and George Ghusn as a Nevada Corporation, Blakely Johnson & Ghusn Structural Engineers. In 1997, architectural services were added to the firm, and Jim Wallis was the first architect for the firm.

Mike and Jim have retired but Cliff and George are still hard at work designing a wide variety of projects for all types of clients, from multi-million dollar research facilities to tenant improvements, to seismic isolators to mechanical supports.
